Jakarta Regional Secretary Marullah Matali opened the Regional Education and Training (Diklatda) of Himpunan Pengusaha Muda Indonesia Jakarta Raya (HIPMI Jaya) at Ritz Hotel Carlton, Thursday (11/14).

Marullah said that this activity was aimed at preparing a generation of young entrepreneurs who are adaptive and relevant to sustainable development.
"I support the activities of Diklatda HIPMI Jaya today. Jakarta must prepare to become an international standard city that is able to attract investment and support economic development," Marullah said, as quoted from Jakarta Provincial Government's press release, Thursday (11/14).
Marullah added Jakarta Provincial Government commits to make Jakarta as sustainable and competitive center for trade, financial services, and investment in the process of transformation into a competitive Global City.
Currently, Jakarta faces various challenges such as digitalization, climate change, low-carbon development, population density, congestion, air pollution, flooding, tidal flooding, land subsidence, waste and clean water access.
"Jakarta Provincial Government keeps running infrastructure developments such as Mass Rapid Transit (MRT), Light Rail Transit (LRT), Bus Rapid Transit (BRT), digital transformation, flood handling, Jakarta Sewerage System (JSS), and up to Drinking Water Supply System (SPAM)," Marullah added.
In order to face various economic challenges, Marullah continued, the role of young entrepreneurs is important. Marullah hopes that young catalysts of HIPMI Jaya can become partner in creating an advanced, equitable, and sustainable city economy through innovation and entrepreneurial spirit.
